At the Interpack 2014 trade fair in Düsseldorf and the ProPak Asia in Bangkok, Jürgen Schuh, Sales Manager of SIKO GmbH, gave lectures at both fair congresses on the topic "Reduction and optimization of machine tooling times by means of effective size changeover of axes and spindles".
SIKO presented the latest trends, new developments, technologies and positioning solutions showing how OEM machine manufacturers as well as machine users can drastically lower machine tooling times. The central topics included the new retrofit solutions that SIKO offers its customers for boosting the productivity of older machines or those that have not yet been optimised. The key role of the new plug-and-play controller ETC5000 with its touchscreen as well as the general product assembly compatibility of the SIKO positioning devices was also underlined.
The lecture at the ProPak ASIA in Bangkok was simultaneously translated from English into Thai to provide the best possible service for local seminar participants and to make sure that language barriers were overcome before they occurred.
After the lectures Jürgen Schuh answered the questions of the interested audience and provided concrete information in response to special customer applications and wishes. Attendees were impressed by the flexibility and wide selection of available products that SIKO offers its customers.
They were also informed about all conceivable positioning solutions for size changeover, starting with the simple and inexpensive mechanical SIKO position indicator through to monitored and fully-automated size changeover by means of electronic, bus-compatible position indicators and the new SIKO fieldbus and Ethernet positioning actuators.
The SIKO series of lectures will be continued on 21 October 2014 at the "Packaging technology design engineering day - more efficiency in networked systems – the path to packaging system 4.0" at the Packaging Excellence Center (PEC), in Waiblingen, Germany.
