SIKO GmbH from Buchenbach is laying the groundwork for the future of 240 employees worldwide with the construction of a new building in Bad Krozingen. The official groundbreaking ceremony for the new building in the commercial area "Am Krozinger Weg“ took place on March 22 in the presence of the Mayor of Bad Krozinger Volker Kieber, the SIKO shareholders Horst and Ursula Wanders, SIKO Managing Director Sven Wischnewski, SIKO Plant Manager Rolf Germann and the two architects Tobias Hahlbrock and Andreas Wiskandt.
Based in Buchenbach since 1963, this significant step will expand production and administrative capacity in Germany. After completion, the production of electronic products as well as sales and marketing will move into 5,000 m² of usable space at the new location in Bad Krozingen. The plant in Markgräflerland is being built according to current standards of building and manufacturing technology. The investment volume including machinery and building equipment amounts to approx. 12 million euros.
Approximately 60-70 SIKO employees will move into the impressive manufacturing and administration building around the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020. Modern offices are being constructed for office employees in addition to electronics production, with high-tech machines for the production of printed circuit boards, for example. SIKO has always attached great importance to ergonomic assembly and office workstations. A separate cafeteria for the employees as well as electric charging columns for e-mobility in the company car park will round out the project. The electricity filling stations are supplied with green electricity in an environmentally sustainable manner via a large-scale photovoltaic system.
Managing Director Sven Wischnewski explained that Bad Krozingen was selected thanks to its logistically attractive location in the business part "Am Krozinger Weg" as well as consistently positive communication with those responsible locally. Quote from Sven Wischnewski: “The location close to the highway and the connection to public transport have been just as important to us in our selection as the willingness always to listen to our concerns and the very good flexibility of our negotiating partners in the city of Bad Krozingen. It just fit perfectly for us.”
SIKO operates worldwide and has subsidiaries in Switzerland, Italy, China, Singapore and the USA. SIKO is already planning wisely for the future to take account of global growth. Managing Director Horst Wandres added a few reasons why they chose Bad Krozingen: “We see potential to grow in Bad Krozingen in the medium and long term, which is also part of our corporate philosophy of thinking in the long term and adhering loyally to existing partnerships.”
