Measurement technology for sun tracking systems

Sensors are used for precise measurement of angle and position in solar-thermal power plants. The downstream control system receives the required feedback to adjust the actual value to the corresponding setpoint. The required angle (=setpoint) is stored in the controller depending on the time of day and consequently the solar altitude angle. The collectors can assume any position and consequently follow sun movement ideally to capture the maximum amount of sunlight.

The SIKO sensors excel in this industry thanks to their durable, long-lasting and climate-resistant technology.

Thanks to our many years of experience, we provide reliable measurement technologies for position detection of:

  • Photovoltaic modules

  • Solar mirrors

  • Parabolic modules
